What’s the difference between traditional and progressive performance management?
While there are no one-size-fits-all approaches when it comes to performance management, it is important for us to distinguish between traditional and progressive forms of performance management. Though they both are methods of reviewing performance, you will notice that these two methods often result in different outcomes.
To add some context, performance review methods have been largely the same for a long time. But what worked just fine a few decades ago is not going to work the same way in today’s work landscape.
Breaking down the difference between traditional methods of performance management and progressive methods of performance management can help us understand just how far performance management has come since the early 1950’s.
