Strategic HR Technology Investment: A Comprehensive Checklist for Global HR Teams
Productive employees are vital to every organization. Productivity depends on how well employees understand their goals & objectives and act on them. But how do you measure employee performance?
Most employers want to know the secret behind measuring employee performance effectively. Here are a few simple tips that can help you do it right.
Sometimes communicating what you want your employees to do is tricky. One way to do this is to document the deliverables. This document should essentially contain a detailed description of the short-term and long time goals of employees and information on how to do them. This will not only help you keep track of their performance but also helps your employees improve themselves from time to time.
Suppose you give two employees a task, one employee finishes the task right away and hands it back. The other employee takes 2 days to finish the task, but the quality of work is much better than that of the first employee. In this case, who is performing better? The better performer would be the second employee. He/she took time to complete the task, but they turned in their best work. And while speed is important, when it comes to working, speed is of no use if the end result is sloppy. Measuring speed only tells you the employee can work fast. It does not take into account the quality of work.
It is always important to know what your employees are working on and to constantly motivate them to improve themselves. Keep track of their daily work accomplishments and encourage them to do better. Ask them to give frequent updates. These updates help as a record for you to review their performance later.
Client satisfaction is the ultimate goal of any organization. So if you want to measure your employees’ performance, then conduct client surveys on regular basis. A client survey can help you identify any issues with your employee performance quickly.
