Whether you like the idea or not, a lot depends on a company’s foundational values and culture. Yes, every organization has one and it always differs from the rest.

If you wish to create a performance-based culture, you need to man up your company with employees who are focused and results driven. In today’s world, this is immensely popular because it enables employees to bag rewards and incentives whenever they meet and exceed their goals.

So, if you wish to build a high-achieving performance culture, the very first step is to define the present culture you already have and set your culture goals. Once you are ready with that, you are ready to get started.

Here are the tips to build a high-achieving performance culture in your company:

Build a cascading plan:

Any behavioral change that will lead to a high-performance culture, has to come from top and flow down. So have a strategy in place, build a platform that is employee-centric, that will drive the cultural change.

Prep your employees:

It is important for you to take this process ahead with great precision and clarity. Changing every mindset may take some time but it can bring about a long-lasting impact. The employees will have to start getting adjusted to the transition that your company will be going through. Leaders will have to pick up signs and reframe their teammates’ minds persuasively.

Pick the right behaviors:

Behavior Drives People – People Drive Business

– Anonymous

In order to build a performance-driven culture, it is necessary to pick a few behavioral changes that you know for sure, will help turn the culture around. They have to be customized to your company needs. Then, you will have to inform all the employees to uphold these behaviors. This way, you will be able to track and monitor the change as well.

Help employees change:

Change is not easy. Some might be open to change, some employees will be resistant to it. It will be ideal if the company launches a forum where employees could access mentors or guides who can walk them through the transition. Then they will be able to overcome resistance and change more gracefully, leading to a performance-based culture.

Model the right behaviors:

What the leaders portray, employees imbibe. So first you will have to train the leaders to inculcate these performance driven behaviors and model them. It will bring about changes in their employees as well. When the company will start deriving value out of this transition and they witness it, this will lead employees to practice these high performing behaviors with greater understanding.

Draw up a plan of action:

The basic drills are the same here. You will have to set OKRs (Objectives and Key Results), draw up a schedule as to when and how everything will be implemented and ways to monitor progress. When it comes to monitoring, you might want to implement an analytics tool that will help you track high-performance behaviors.
