Advantages
1. Reduced Stress Levels
Remote employees have less pressure from the managers compared to their counterparts who are watched by their bosses 24/7. Less pressure means more focus; more focus leads to increased productivity.
2. Reduced Cost
Working from home means no commuting to work, and that means reduced transport cost. Employers also don’t have to spend on their office space which is again reduced cost for both employees and employers.

3. More Engaged Employees
Experts say that remote employees are more engaged than their counterparts. They can work flexibly and have less pressure which makes them more enthusiastic to work and engages them.
4. Working At one’s Own Pace
Remote employees do not have to work in particular time intervals. They work on their projects according to their convenience and only have to submit it before the deadline. So working at their own pace makes it more advantageous.
Disadvantages
1. Complete Dependence On Technology
Technology plays the major role in communicating with coworkers and in discussing work related problems. But if technical issues like connectivity problems etc arise, there is no other option for a remote employee to communicate with his coworkers or get his work done.

2. Distractions
Working from home is not free from distractions. Remote employees face problems with these distractions because of no filters like in the workplace.
3. Lack Of Social Workplace Culture
While you are working remotely, you might be in contact with your co-workers, but you can never feel the social life that employees usually have at their workplace.

4. No Routine
Not all remote employees are motivated enough to start working without a work routine. Some might just end up being less productive as remote employees.
